About Upscale Ads
We’re a virtual digital marketing agency, specialising in helping businesses to use social media and search advertising to get more leads and sales.
Upscale is actually the third incarnation of our business, as we decided to focus on our specialism of digital ads, having been a more generalist agency before then.
Upscale (previously known as Click Smart Digital) was founded by me, Matt Duggan. There I am, chatting away to a captive audience at a marketing event in London.
I started out learning SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to promote myself, back when I was a professional magician (yes, really).
I reached number one on Google for the search term ‘magician London’ and the bookings increased. That was the moment I realised that you could learn an online system and use it to grow businesses.
I also realised that I wanted to own and run a business, not just a fancy job…
I started working freelance for an agency between magic gigs and soon needed to learn Facebook Ads to help out a client. This was back in 2008, when Meta was called Facebook and social media ads were totally new to the UK.
Fast forward and when one of the directors left, I was asked to step in and run the agency.
Fast forward again and I bought out the other director and became the sole owner.
Now, we’re scaling our team, with social media, video editing and most recently, video production added to the core advertising team.
We’re also building services that allow both Upscale and our clients to scale quickly and sustainably.
Our mission is to help as many real world and e-commerce companies as possible to harness the power of digital marketing to scale their revenue and profits.
